Revd Margaret says:
"I think this is a very important prayer at this time as it reminds us that God entered into our world as one of us and so knows our pain."
The angel of the Lord brought tidings to Mary
and she conceived by the Holy Spirit.
Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee;
blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Behold, the handmaid of the Lord;
be it unto me according to thy word.
And the Word was made flesh,
and dwelt among us.
Pray for us, O holy Mother of God
that we made be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
We beseech thee, O Lord: pour thy grace into our hearts, that as we have known the incarnation of thy Son, Jesus Christ by the message of an angel, so by his cross and passion we may be brought to the glory of his resurrection; through the same Christ our Lord. Amen
