Christmas Stars 2024

Christmas is a time of light shining in the darkness. We remember the shepherds and the wise men following the star to Bethlehem where they found the infant Jesus with Mary and Joseph.

It is also a time of reflection, when we give thanks for the good things that have happened in the past year. Often, as we look back we also remember our loved ones who are no longer with us, and the times we have shared with them.

This year, as we prepare to decorate our church Christmas trees at St Mary's in South Elmsall, and at St Margaret's in North Elmsall, we would like to invite members of our local communities to dedicate a star on one of our trees in memory of a loved one, or in thanksgiving for a happy event such as a wedding or (appropriately for the Christmas season) the arrival of a new baby in their family.

All we ask in exchange is a small donation of £1 per name, per star. All funds raised will go towards the cost of running our churches in 2025.
